Hello again..A lot has happened since my last blog in April. We have done some incredible restorations to the exterior of our building, creating a true feeling of the "Old West", with a lot more to come! Our little lodge is really starting to shine! We are also getting super excited to start our new outside deck! This deck will run the whole length of the building. This new space will be a wonderful place to read, blog, have a glass of wine, play chess or checkers or just people watch! We are hoping to also add a fire pit as well. I'm so excited to say that several new FANTASTIC businesses have opened on North Cortez in the last 6 months. All these great places are a 3 minute walk from us or less! In my opinion, some of "Prescott's Best" is right at our front door, confirming that our location truly can not be beat! Visit our facebook page "likes" to see great dining and things to do. Most of them are easy walking distance from our front door! If they are not, they are worth the drive! We are across the street from the Depot Marketplace, which offers every convenience you could ever want. Turn the corner, and stroll to the historical Courthouse plaza and every business along the way is a treat! I won't bore you with naming them all, but you won't be disappointed. All this being said, we hope you will be our guest this fall or holiday season to enjoy Prescott's beautiful downtown, for we are the Christmas city! |

Hello all, well the Holiday Season has arrived! There isn't a better place to start your gala of festivities than in Downtown Prescott. Our beautiful courthouse plaza has such a warm & festive Christmas feeling it's better than being in Bedford Falls! Oh yes, It is a wonderful life here in "Preskit" Arizona! Shopping in our quaint shops, antiquing around the plaza and eating in view of our lighted courthouse is picture perfect! (Even more so when we get a sprinkle of snow!) It's hard to get that warm, fuzzy small town feeling in the big box stores so come for the night, day or weekend to jump start your holiday season! We welcome you to come "up" or "down" the mountain where ever you may be coming from and enjoy all that we have to offer. Visit Prescott.org for a list of events going on the month of December. Please remember that Sheldon St. Lodge is in the heart of downtown and walking distance to everything. Our Christmas tree & lights are up for your enjoyment too! I do hope that everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend and enjoyed good food and quality family time. Being grateful for all we have is sometimes difficult for us to do when life is hectic, Having this one day a year to stop and embrace our blessings is truly awesome! May this holiday season bring you lot's of joy and happiness. Happy Travels, Colleen |

First, I'd like to thank those of you who took the time to visit our new web-site. I hope that our new web presence will provide you with enlightening information about us, our little lodge and the Prescott area. My name is Colleen and my husband Shane and I have owned The Sheldon St Lodge for over 6 years. We are both considered Prescottonians, not born but raised here in Prescott. We love Prescott and are very proud to call it home. We are blessed with three beautiful children who still don't know just how lucky they are to be raised in such a great town with so much to offer. Secondly, I would like to use this blog to briefly thank some of the locals for their support and appreciation of our improvements through the years. I often get random calls from a community member thanking us for taking pride in ownership which has ultimately improved this part of the downtown area. This property for many years was very neglected, although the previous owners did their share of improvements before we bought the property, I guess we went a few steps further. This property over the last 25 years has had many changes. For the most part our little place had a pretty bad "RAP" in past years. We are always a "work in progress" because there is always room for improvement. We are very proud of how far we've come and all the wonderful guest we have accommodated through the years. Being a budget motel (as any motel), there is an occasional "bad apple" that we might get in passing, but the question is how often? Not very! We have a zero tolerance for disruptive behavior, drugs & public drunkenness. We run a safe, quiet, clean and what some have called "quaint" little place. We stay very full with visitors from around the world. Our location is across the street from the Courtyard by Marriott, which we often get run off from when they are booked. We are not fancy and have limited amenities. However if you are looking for an affordable, homey, clean & safe place to stay please consider us. Our location is unbeatable and walking distance to all downtown activities. We offer morning coffee & pastries and have Wireless-Internet. We are slowly stepping out from behind a dark cloud and hope that people will see us for what we are and not what we were! We look forward to having the opportunity to welcome you to our little lodge in the heart of downtown. We hope that your stay with us will be pleasurable and that you will consider us for your next jaunt through our lovely little town known to the locals as "Preskit.....Everyones Hometown" Take Care of yourselves and Happy Travels.
